The early 30s is the best time to make a move; whether to change carrier or to start your own business. Especially, that your not peaked yet and still have hunger in you. However, moving from sales to advertising is quite risky these days due to the financial meltdown. Agencies are not hiring at this time, and the ones that are hiring are looking for someone with huge experience; your sales experience might be a plus thought. My advice is taking the courses to satisfy your urge, hunger and to learn something new. And when the time is right; maybe by early 2011, make the move. take a risk, remember you always have sales to fall back into. Good luck to your and to Terry B

I say, go for it! There's no time like the present! Just make sure you at least attend seminars on the subject, or the advertisement and designing course you mentioned. If you don't do this now, you will always wonder what might have happened. Do what you love - the money will follow! Best of luck to you.
