Question: What to do w brilliant idea, co-branding 2 major brands, don't want to get idea ripped off. please help!?

I have this major entrepreneurial idea, which started out as a play to save jobs and possibly even expand an ailing institution. Realized a few days later that I have the skills, ability and resources to carry off the presentation (and possibly the sale of the idea) and stand to make a great deal of money. I need to know how to keep my idea safe from being stolen, and exactly whom to speak with to get my foot in the door, and whom to pitch the idea to at each company, and which company to approach first. Any and all serious suggestions appreciated. Thank you. Also, I am currently not employed and don't have a lot of money to throw around.

Y! answers prolly not the best place to ask buddy. if you dont tell anyone, your idea wont be stolen. maybe write the play first, publish it, and go from there, pitching the idea to major companies and whatnot. take it slow, one step at a time and dont tell anyone except anyone youre working with, and close family of course

Make a list of the prospective companies and phone each one, asking to speak to the marketing manager.
