Which is better Norton or Kaspersky anti virus?
I am planning to buy an anti virus but I am confused ..I have heard norton slows down your pc, is it true? I want anti virus which will detect all kind of spy wares and sometimes I feel that I have been key logged, I feel that everything I type gets recorded in someone else's PC which anti virus & which version of the anti virus will take care of this problem...I have avg free edition right now but I am not satisfied with it I need answers fast because I am planning to buy it tomorrow
Fake anti virus program on my laptop?
It has a little yellow green shield. I can't open task manager, anti virus programs, or the internet on a different computer, obviously . I need to get it off asap.. Also, I don't know if this helps at all, but I started it up in safe mode, and the fake program didn't appear at all, and I was able to open other things. HELP?

My computer is a Sony Vaio running xp. If I try to access any software on line like... Mcafee, Norton, Avira... you get the drift. I get a non connection message. I finally managed to get a mcafee security scanner on the computer but when I try to open it I get a not connected to the internet message when I am connected and can access any site other than anti virus sites. Does anyone know what this is?I did get a CMC internet security 2010 site up and running but it does not see this problem or any other virus's. and yes. I have done all updates. I am getting frustrated and thinking of doing a full reformat of the hard drive and starting over. But I am lazy and really would rather not do all that work. Maybe remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer that is protected and has the best recommended antiviral program already installed.I live in Vietnam and the tech's here are not the best by any means. All hints or help will be much appreciated.

and it works fine, it has been with me for year or so and never faced any problem with virus, any trojan horses are immediately blocked.Do I need to buy a paid one, are there chances that my computer has viruses or harmful stuff which is yet to be detected ? because there is no problem with performance of my PC except I hear a loud humming voice when my PC is on, it grows louder when I am watching a movie online from some website, otherwise it is a low humming sound, that is the only problem that I am facing with my pc.

Cannot use anti-virus software and Google redirects?
I have recently been noticing some abnormalities with my laptop computer. Firstly, I cannot open any anti virus or anti malware software I already have Malwarebytes' Anti Malware installed and I have tried to install AVG but it constantly fails the internet connection test and when I have performed searches on Google, the links often redirect me to another random spam site. I also sometimes receive " server not found" messages when trying to visit websites far too frequently for it to be a coincidence , but with a few refreshes they eventually load up.I have searched around and this appears to be a fairly common virus problem, but I have not yet found a way to solve it. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.Thanks in advance
What is wrong with Avast anti-virus?
The website is not working.I downloaded it on to my laptop over a year ago when i didn't have internet.Over a year later i renewed to 5.0 and it's saying it has expired so when i go to renew or register it won't let me an the website is also down, it's been down for about a week. What should i do?
