Yes, because they check for different types of malware. The security rule is 1 anti-virus, 1 firewall, several anti-spyware, and current Windows updates. Here's trusted, free anti-virus programs (only use 1 at a time): ♠avast! Free Antivirus avast.com/ free-antivirus-download ♠Avira AntiVir free-av.com ♠Microsoft Security Essentials microsoft.com/ security_essentials ♠AVG AntiVirus free.avg.com/ us-en/ download?prd= afe SuperAntiSpyware is compatible with all of them. Check the recent PC World review of free anti-viruses: pcworld.com/ reviews/ collection/ 1597/ free_antivirus_software.html Here are free firewalls: ♣ ZoneAlarm zonealarm.com/ security/ en-us/ zonealarm-pc-security-free-firewall.htm ♣ Comodo personalfirewall.comodo.com ♣ Outpost free.agnitum.com ...

Yep. and I agree with the other guy. get Avast. It rated high and is free. It does have some annoying reminders to buy it, but don't.

I think : Anti Spyware and FireWall can protect you with Trojan, Spyware, Adware, Spam but with Virus,Worm and Rootkit (wiki if need), you need an Antivirus.

Oh yes you do. Spyware is just one of the threats on a computer. There are a lot more. Get an AV program like AVG Free or Avast or Avira. As for the firewall you can use the free Comodo Firewall. Comodo also offers a free anti-virus. You can retain your SuperAnti-Spyware even if you have an AV installed. They won't conflict.

I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/ V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/ V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

Yes you need a separate anti-virus program. I have been working on computers for 20 years and have watched the evolution of hackers, spyware, malware, and viruses. I have personally tested over 20 anti-virus products and the most effective is Avast. Avast anti-virus uses the least amount of system resources (cpu/ ram) and finds the most viruses in my experience and I use it personally and professionally. Spybot Search and Destroy I have found to be much more effective than super anti-spyware, and all others in the spyware department. As for malware, (Yes, I'm sorry you need a third program.) I highly recommend Malwarebytes Anti-malware. The best firewall is a router, a hardware firewall. I don't recommend using a software firewall at all. I used to run zonealarm but found it to be wasted resources as most people do not need a firewall. If you really need a firewall, and most people do not, the best I have seen is BlackIce. However, it is excessively annoying and only recommended to have a firewall for hackers and other computer extremists of the such. In summary, Virus protection/ Anti-virus: Avast, Spyware: Spybot Search and Destroy, and Malware: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I know for sure this is the best way to go from 20 years computer experience, 10 of those in a professional business and home service call pc repair environment.
