Is it hazardous to use an "overly" hi-powered canister filter for a small aquarium?
I would like to use a canister filter with 2400 litres hour for a 150 litre freshwater aquarium believing that I'm doing the aquarium good. I've been told otherwise. Can someone tell me if it is alright or that I am overdoing it?

Should I Move my fish to another aquarium?
My comet goldfish I got from petsmart doesn't seem happy in his new tank. It's bottomsitting and not eating much. Should I move him to my fish tank which is bigger, brighter, and has fish in it. The other fishtank has a little bass, 4 baby bluegill, and 2 small catfish. The goldfish is about 5 6" long. Would he be fine down in that fishtank. I'm worried he'll die in the current one.JSYK The tank he's currently in is 20 gallons.

List of cold water aquarium fish?
There's a tl dr down at the bottom, since this is fairly long windedI'm looking to put together a small freshwater aquarium 10 20 gallons or less is about all I can afford, hence needing something small , and am looking for a list of relatively easy to care for, fresh, cold water fish. I already have 2 gold fish and 3 bettas The bettas are kept separate, in warm water, 2.5 gallon aquariums so I'm looking at something different to keep things fresh.I've used up about all the outlets in my room, which I keep fairly warm for my hermit crabs and bettas though they have heaters, the heaters are fairly weak to avoid roasting them , so this tank will be in the slightly cooler game room, hence the need for the fish to be tolerant of cooler temperatures. Besides that, if I hook up another filter and heater and bubbler and light setup, my parents will kill me over the electric bill.tl dr I need a list of fish that Can be in a group of 2 or more in a 10 20 gallon aquarimDon't require a heaterAren't gold fish or betta fishPreferably, I would like to know fish that don't take a bubbler, but that's not a mustI will research the fish individually myself, so you don't need to provide too many details unless you really want to.Also, if your answer is F ing STUPID, don't waste my time or fill up my inbox.

New salt aquarium water is cloudy! Help?
Hello, I have a 55 gal tank that has been running for two days.. And it is milky cloudy I did rinse the sand in freshwater prior to adding it in the tank, and before I added the salt water. I have 15 pounds of live rock in there, and 20 pounds of live sand. When I added the water, I used a pump, and I tried using the bowl method, but the current was too strong. The water got very cloudy, but I decided to let it settle overnight. The next day water was clear But when I turned on filter equipment and powerheads, the water got cloudy again almost immediately.. Is this normal? Should I turn off the equipment? Your help is much appreciated

Turquoise film in my Freshwater Aquarium?
Something strange has happened to my tank, literally, over night. For weeks and weeks my tanks has been A OK, I've been watching and checking it and vacuuming cleaning regularly, watching feedings and nitrate levels, everything by the book. This morning I woke up and my tank is a complete 180 from yesterday There is this weird, bright neon turquoise teal splotchy film coating the glass, some of the rocks and the decor in the tank. 3 of my fish were dead, a 4th on it's last leg, it'll probably be dead in the hour, and my plants shed about half their leaves, and the rest that were still in tact to the stalk were basically sludge, and my filter that I had just recently changed was completely overtaken with muck. It has a growth pattern that looks like mold, not a typical algae pattern. It is not cyanobacteria, I've had that plenty times in my tank and it looks completely different it is a, literal, NEON coloured turquoise, it looks like I painted the tank with some kind of glow in the dark rave paint. And the water itself is still crystal clear it's only on the surfaces of objects and the glass. Everything was completely fine last night when I check the tank before bed, and this is how it was when I woke this morning to check it again.........I've searched, and searched and searched, I can not find ANY info on turquoise algae or fungus in aquariums, and other people have told me it's Blue Green algae......but it is not, they have not seen it, I am familiar with that it is absolutely not Cyna. I have never seen anything like this before. What is it?? What do I do ?? Can I clean it, or do I need to chunk the entire tank, clean, and start over from scratch? Is this some type of fungus or disease I need to eradicate or can I simply medicate clean and continue on?? I am totally lost here. It was a 10 gal tetra tank with a an orange glow fish, 3 serpae tetras, and 3 black neons. 2 of the black neons died, and one of the Serpaes. The last black neon is the one that's about to die any second. The other Serpaes look a bit pale, and not as active, but otherwise relatively ok. The glow fish is acting completely normal, happy and healthy.
