20 gallons isn't big enough for 1 Oscar, let alone 2. I would go with at least a 60 gallon for two Oscars. I had made that mistake myself some years ago. I had 3 in a 55 gallon tank and they outgrew that in less than a year.

They usually get to be 12 inches

Oscars grow really fast. They get become 12 -14 inches. So 20 G tank won't be good for them. 100g tank would be enough for a pair. but at least 200 G would be better.

No way. The minimum for a SINGLE oscar is a 55 gallon. Please do your research before getting any pets.
