i bought live blood worms yesterday they all died the next day, is it safe to keep feeding my cihlid the worms,if it is for how much longer,what a way to presearve the next yime i puy them the and how.It smells realy bad
75 gallon central & south american cichlid tank...will this fish stock work?
Changing around my 75 gallon tank once again...thinking about a fish stock such as this 3 firemouth cichlids 1 male & 2 females...ive bred FM's before and i still plan too 3 convict cichlid all females 1 spotted raphael catfishin a 75 gallon tank, with 800 gallons per hour filtration and weekly water changes, can this be done?can anymore fish be added to this stocking? possibly another small to medium sized cichlid..such as a keyhole cichlid?the tank has loads of driftwood and a lot of hiding spots

what fish i put in with a 3 inch Jewl cichlid, its not to aggresive,but can do some dammage when he wants to. When i put a 1 inch convict in he bit his fin off which evuantually killed him. would te fish have to be his same size.
What could win in a fight? A female Gobi cichlid or a green pike cichlid?
I got a green pike and a green terror yesterday. My Gobi thinks that she is the boss of them. The pike and Gobi are the same size but the GT is a little bit smaller. If the Gobi keeps on messing with them is it gonna get killed by the pike or GT? And the Gobi is not attack them she is just following them around a lot and getting in their space.

Yes i've asked this today but i haev more ideas i need answering to Okay so i've got my pair of kribensis cichlids in a 20gallon with some fry about 8 days old. So now i'm needing to start a raising tank. This isn't a problem and i'm think about another 20 gallon tank for the fry raising. But here's the dialema. If i'm going to breed fish i want to breed cichlid why breed such cheap ones when i could breed expensive ones and make some money. So i was thinking about electric blue rams. In my area they sell for about $40 australia dollars. Where kribensis only sell for $10. Now i think i'd be capable to keep these rams alive but is there any other types of cichlid that can easily live a ONE PAIR in a 20 gallon and is worth while to breed. Or is it better to breed kribs that easily breed and get lots of fry and make money through shear numbers.I'd also like to try rams because i'd like a bit more of a challenge and my tank is the perfect set up for a pair. The water is well aged with no ammonia or nitrite and the nitrates is about 5ppm. The pH is about 6.8. It has heaps of hiding spots and breeding sites and is well planted with anubias, swords, java moss, random leafy thing, random plant which i've no idea what it is, swords. So it looks like a garden and i'm thinking all it needs is a pair of rams.So previous answer have said cockatoo cichlids. I love the look of them but they're only about $13 australian dollars where i am. They also sound like a bit of a hassle to breed, i've read the female won't tolerate the male after breeding. What about agassizi cichlid i think thats how it's spelt . How do you sex them and i think you can keep 1 male to about 3 females and they're harem breeders.What do you think?

Couple of cichlid questions?
Currently setting up a 125 gallon It's currently cycling. Fishless cycling. Adding ammonia. Nitrites started showing up today so the cycling is going is moving along great.We're planning on african cichlids. Mainly Yellow Labs. My questions are What would be the optimal temp for these guys? got new fancy heaters with a digital thermometer so I can dial in pretty well What numbers would be a good stocking? don't tell me one inch of fish per gallon. The bottom of the tank is covered in large rocks all piled up to provide lots of caves and hiding places What fish food would you recommend? We usually feed our fish tetramin but it runs fairly high in protein.. even the special cichlid food has 45 47 % protein. Don't want to cause them problems due to too much protein.
Should i keep my jack dempsey,green terror or my red tiger motaguense cichlid?
I have a 55 gal and i can only keep one. there all really beautiful fish so i dont know which one i want to keep. Im kind of leaning towards my red tiger motaguense because he jus looks like a beast. Maybe you guys could list some pros and cons of keepin each one.
Fish Jaguar cichlid help?
I just bought a baby jaguar cichlid and put it in my ten gallon dont worry it is oing to be moved to my 4ft tank soon and i wanted to kn ow if it is a male or a female. right now it is about 1.75 inches long and it kind of yellowish hue to it. it has mostly stripes and a couple dots like a jaguars coat .
Cichlid tank question?
I am starting a 29 gallon, probably african, cichlid tank. I want to include a pair of kribs, a pair of rams, a pair of some other cichlids and a school of cories. I'm not sure kribs can go with rams though. I just want a good idea for a 29 gallon cichlid tank.
