Help needed with my fish tank?
Hi. I have a 55 gallon fresh water fish tank. I have 2 irredisent sharks and two agile eaters. In the tank I have a glass tube heater that sticks to the side of the tank. And that is what I am having a problem with. On the heater there is this stuff that looks like hard crusty pink agile. The only problem is. This stuff is NOT coming off the tube. I took it off. washed it. Scrubbed it. And no matter what I do this pink hard crusty stuff will not come off. And I have no clue what it is. It does not seem to be hurting my fish. Or making them sick. But I don't like the fact that I don't know what it is nor anyone else I asked for that matter. Has anyone had this happen before? And if yes can you tell me what it is and what I am supposed to do about it.Note I do have pink gravel in the tank along with other colors but I can not fathom how that would be it.Thank you. I will try the vinegar. Can't really hurt anything if it is wrong. The hard water also makes sense. I recently moved. And I did not have this problem in my old state. Should I soak it in vinegar or just rub it down???Also. My sharks are about 8 inches now from tip to tale that is a guesstamit and they both seem to be doing fine together so far in the one tank.
What's wrong with my fish?
I just bought an indian glassfish a week ago and I don't know whats wrong with it. Yesterday it just started going crazy. It can only lay on its side near the surface of the water no its not dead and when it trys to swim its still on its side but can only manage to go in circles.This am I watched it try to go to bottom of the tank where food had just settled & it couldn't swim downwards. It made it about half way down the tank and then some kind of " force" caused it to be drug back up to the top.Does anybody know what's wrong with it and how I can fix it?

my Fish tanks.1 10 gallon tank that holds a figure 8 puffer. Filtered. Heated. Gravel as a substrate. Decor. Water Changes. Etc.another 10 gallon tank With a Common algae eater. About 4 5 inches.. i know he needs a bigger tank.. But i cant upgrade.. hes 6 7 years old. with 3 golden barbs. Water changes etc.. filter heater.. but the algae on the tank i cant get off. also. the tank looks very dirty another 10 gallon tank that houses 1 comet goldfish and 2 fancy tails. I know.. this is bad. Filter. Some water changes. And what not.. Its overstocked.. but i cant Upgrade there tank.. they are all pretty old except one of the fancy tails another 10 gallon tank that houses 2 comets that go into a 55 or 60 gallon Pond When it gets warm enough Out. Nice Filter too.A 14 gallon tank with 9 glofish.. Whenever i clean the water a bunch of this white stuff Flows all over the tank it looks like pieces of paper towels and you cant pick it up? what is this? thinking of adding 2 3 cory cats as well. Not sure if that would work.i have a Magnetic Algae sponge.. you put one sponge on the inside one on the outside. it bonds through the glass and removes algae etc.. didnt work for the Hard green algae build up on the tropical tank though.. so..Can you rate my fish tanks 1 10 and tell me what i need to do to help them more?really? 4 10 overall? I meant rate each tank seperately btw..emily. i said GLO fish. not GOLD fish. the glofish are 1 inch a piece. dont worry. the tanks Currently a bit understocked.the puffers tank IS brackishnot sure how.. ALL of them? or most are overstocked?Puffer Is fine in there. they dont get longer then 3 inches. hes there alone. water is clean. No ammonia. no nitrites. nitrates are under 20.the 14 gallon tank with the 9 glofish. Same thing..The Goldfish in the pond. Are fine.Only ones i see that are overstocked are... Yes.The tropical tank with the algae eaterand the 10 gallon with 3 goldies.

I live on a college campus and I am going back to my home town for a week. Since I have no roommate and no one to feed him in my absence, I decided to take him with me. I keep him in a one or two gallon tank and use the small container only for water changes, but I was wondering if it would be okay to keep him in the small container for a week for travel since the large tank is rather cumbersome..... will it hurt him if I keep him in it small container for a week?Please, do try not to be an asshole about the question I posed. It isn't necessary.I hate that I can't comment directly to people.When I bought the betta tank, it came with instructions to change the water completely every two weeks. Partial changes once or twice a week.

Could I just use a couple of 5 gallon buckets and keep my fish in it for the 2 hour trip, or do I need to put them in bags like I did last time? Thanks

I dont really know what kind they are, one is a small cat fish wich is minutes away from his death. He has had his problems and he has lived a long life and the other is a small one that is white with black spots. Im trying to find what kind he is.
