My fish are getting all food except crab?
i have three fish and one freshwater crab the crab will eat any food that falls to the bottom of the tank but the problem is my fish eat all the food before it gets to the bottom of the tank. if the food does reach the bottom of the tank the fish eat that to how can i get my fish to stop doing that so my crab can eat. please help i have a starving crab.

for my birthday in February a friend gave me a betta fish and a small tank .5 gallon. unfortunately, i really don't have any spare money to buy a good sized tank so he's been in that one until now. sidenote i've tried to accommodate him as best i can though clean water, things in his bowl rocks, marbles, jacks, a plastic plant , and i've been feeding him 3x a day with two different types of food. now, i went to tj maxx for clothes, actually , and ended up finding this really big decorative bowl there for $5 it's basically a really big goldfish bowl so i figured since it's bigger i got it. anyway, my entire .5 gal fits in there with PLENTY of space i think it might fit in there twice so i'm guessing the tank is 1 1.2 gallons. the measurements are 34" around and 8.5 inches deep if that helps . so, my question is, is this a good tank? what can i do to make it better for the betta?thanks in advance. green jefferson i don't have enough money to but a 5 gallon tank. i've got $15, so i'll get anything i can with that, if you know a place, tell me.
My tiger oscar fish is lying on its side on the bottom of the fish tank, what is wrong with the fish?
the tiger oscar is on its side lying on the bottom of the fish tank looks like the fish is struggling to breath. the fish has been like this for bout 2 days. i have medicated the tank with MELAFIX which is a antibacterial fish remedy. And the fish is still not able to swim. The fish has not eaten anything for 2 days. And when i tried to move the fish, he sort of curls his body and trys to swim, but cant. the fish is still at the bottom of the fish tank doin the same things as stated above.

Goldfish seem to need an awful lot of space and they produce loads of amnonia...I would like to get some interesting fishes for my kids to watch an dme not to struggle too much with the care..
