Test results on my saltwater (marine) tank???? 10 points best answer?
i set my tank up 1 week ago.i added the cured live rock and live sand yesterday.this morning i tested the waternitrite is a 0nitrate is at 0ph is at 7.8 yeah i know i will proberley have to buy a buffer.but the strange thing is the ammonia test was a foamy, creamy yellowish green and the result wasnt on the chart???? is this normal

Can you de-chlorinate tap water before adding marine salt to it?
i read this You should never de chlorinate saltwater because it will destabilize the pH because of the neutralization of ammonia and nitrates. is this correct? so what benefits do RO water have? and why is it better?

i have a aqua pro canister filter for my 40 gallon marine tank.it has 3 baskets in it.in 2 of the baskets there are loads of wheat coloured balls in the other basket there is a black foam and a thick white soam sponge.is all this ok for my marine tank or shall i add a diffrent type of media?i dont think it has any carbon in it?i got the filter from a guy who used it on his marine tank

I'm thinking of buying Nature's Ocean Premium Marine Substrates for my fresh water fish tank. Is it a good idea to mix marine sand with fresh water fish? What are the effects if I do?
