I'm taking my boyfriend's senior portraits, ideas please?

If you only have a small photo to work from, but you want to draw a huge portrait based on it........?
and you don't have a projector or anything to help you blow it up .. how do you draw it on the larger canvas, using the small photo as a reference, without warping the shape? any tips? thanks

Should picture portraits be covered with glass when framing for proteection of the picture portrait?

It's all very dark, there is a girl in a red and black and maybe some white dress, sitting, on the left side of the painting. She has a skull in her lap, and there is a candle glowing on a table on the right side of the painting.Usually I don't like to ask these types of questions because people hardly ever know the answer, but this painting is very famous, or so it seems, I've seen it a lot. Should I get a Canon EF 135mm with Soft Focus or a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens for portrait photography?
I'm planning on buying either lens, but I'm up to taking picture of both People and their headshots, and nature and sunset like view, but not sunsets, something spectacular like a sunset.I'm an amateur 14 year old photographer, started 3 years ago, and I've been using the 50mm standard lens. I'm still confused on which one to buy for a good portrait photo. Ones that you will see on the photo frames when you buy them. Please help me, your opinion. Remember that i want both good headshots and portrait photos of people and good nature shots.I use a Canon 40D Camera.

For good portrait photography and people photography or yea w/ Canon 40D: EF 100mm F/2 or EF 85mm F/1.8?
I'm deciding on buying an new lens for portrait photography, or shots of people doing some things, like model shots, but not really, more like head shots or just random shots of people happy or doing something, well, it' PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY, that's all I can say. I use a Canon 40D, i'm not a professional. Should I get the Canon EF 100mm F 2 or the Canon EF 85mm F 1.8 for portrait photography? Or do you have another one you want to recommend, then please do so. Give me reasons, examples and more about why you chose either lens, or one that you chose yourself. Thanks for helping.And will the bokeh of both be nice, i don't know how to explain it, but... for example, orbs of light or something like that, I think you might understand.I already have a standard EF 18 55mm Lens, I guess that will change the answers, and I've only had 1 lens, that lens, for 2 years, and I'm getting bored of the same types of photos. Portrait Photography Studio?
I do Senior Portraits and use natural settings want to start indoor studio and would like to know what monolight strobe systems are good but im on a budget. I am looking at a Flashpoint 320M Portrait Wedding Monolight Kit at Adorama it is listed in Shutter Bug Magazine as very good. Looking for suggestions from experienced photographers.
