1. I was 12 or 13. I was influenced by my younger sister and mom you had been doing pageants for many years but it was deff my choice in the end. 2. When I first started pageantry, I would always place in the top 10 or top 5 finalists but i was never able to take home the crown. This made me more determined to win and suprisingly more confident. I practiced longer, harder, and sought out help and eventually i won. 3. Go for it! Pageants are amazing. You will make so many life-long friends and truly grow from the experience. Pageants have inspired me as well as many other young ladies across this country to celebrate their individuality and break the glass ceiling on the beliefs that many ignorant folks in our society hold about both pageantry and pageant girls. If you are interested for only material reasons, then awesome scholarship opportunities are available with honest to goodness scouts in the fields of talent, acting, academics and such. There are also great prizes like cars and cool gift packages and beautiful trophies/ plaques/ medals plus it looks pretty good on your resume. Keep in mind though, that you are competing with some of the most talented and highly intelligent girls in your state (including you) so don't take this pageant lightly. Most girls are surprised at their competition but don't worry, previous contestants are always willing to help and aren't stuck-up so don't be afraid to approach them. Remember: "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow " -Eleanor Roosevelt seize the day and dare to be you! 4. Yes, for the same reasons as #3 5. Yes because you put a lot into doing pageants. 6. What beauty process?! My hair and makeup were professionally done. I had my eyebrows done, fake eylashes & my face was loaded with makeup for the final night bu tit needs to be like that on stage. 7. Yes to grades on school because pageants teacch girls disciline and self-advocacy. Physical aspects: Sometimes but only in a positive way. There are girls of all sizes who compete in pageants. Friends: Yes self esteem: definitely! I just wanted to say that I am appalled that there are still so many close-minded not to mention judgmental people in America who try to push their beliefs about pageantry onto others. This nation is supposed to be progressing but it seems like we keep going backwards...it's just sad. These people need to go inform themselves.

1. How old were you when you joined the Beauty Pageant and was the decision your choice or that of you parents or friends? i was 4 it was my mothers choice me obviously being too young to have a say and again when i was 15 2. What position did you come in the result of the final votes and how did this make you feel? i came in 2st when i was 4 and 3rd when i was 15. being 15 years old and everyone always telling me im beautiful never gave me a big head but some confidence. the girl that won was so nice but her mother pushed it on her and she told me shes done it her whole life and has cried because her mother told her shes not good enough. that just turned me off of it. 3. What would you say to children/ teenagers that want to join a Beauty Pageant? don't take anything too serious or to heart because at the end of the day its just a contest and who's gave these balding middle aged men and women you've never met before the right to judge you? 4. If you have or in the future have children will you encourage them to join a Pageant? (Please give reasons for your answer) most definitely. im only 19 now but if i have children i wouldn't want to ruin their growing minds they need to wear pigtails and watch spongebob not strut down a catwalk in glitter bikinis haha 5. Would you say there are any emotional side effects of a pageant? Yes? No? If yes what are they? yes, and that reason would be because young girls need a lot of confidence and if they in competitions with other girls trying to win a crown claiming wwho'sthe most beautiful than that can set a wrong example they need to feel beautiful not be told that rhinestones and false eyelashes and fake tans are what beauty is. 6. Describe the types of beauty process’s you went through to achieve an end result? being 4 i still had false eyelashes spray on tans caked on makeup my mother would put on for an hour painful itchy extentions in my hair other girls had these pop on fake teeth! when i was 15 it was different girls were stuffing their boobs i ddidn'tknow why we were kids! and half of them were bbulimicbut they laughed about it like it was normal it was not my cup of tea to say the least! 7. Do you think that taking part in Beauty Pageants has an effect on Grades at school? it depends how involved they are with beauty pageants Physical aspects such as weight issues? yes 100% high schools bad enough god forbid they have to compete against skinner girls than them if kinda corrupts your mind into thinking whats perfect Friends? again it depends if they are full time pageant ggoers Your emotions/ self esteem? yes its hard Anything else (Please briefly explain your answers)
