Juniper Bonsai Care Questions?
I have two questions.1st I have had my bonsai for about one month now, and when I got it I noticed that it was yellowing just a bit on the inner branches. I have kept it outdoors, only soaking it up to trunk for two minutes when it has dried out completely about every other day , and some of the branches are yellowing drying out where the branch meets the trunk for about an inch, and some have about an inch of dried yellow on the middle of the branch. Are these branches that have yellow going to die out completely? Is there any saving my bonsai?2nd When I prune, do I have to remove branch or growth by the base of the branch only or can I twist about an inch off the top of some branches? It just seems like the branches are growing too long, and I don't want to remove the entire branch. So far I have only removed few new growths by the base of the branch.I have indeed read many articles on this subject, but I have not found my answers.

Outdoor Bonsai Care - Japanese Maple?
My girlfriend bought me a group of 4 Japanese Maple bonsai trees, aged 8 10 years, from Dobbies 3 weeks ago. As I work overseas it was left in her care for those three weks, in which she kept it indoors, albeit adequetely watered. I received a panicky email on thursday advising me that the leaves on 3 of the 4 were wilting badly and asking what she should do. I told her to put it outside immedietely, which she did, and I checked it this morning upon my return but its looking a bit knackered. I only ever kept indoor bonsai before, but thought that the acer was fairly hardy and would be okay if left ouside. We are away on holiday for 2 weeks shortly, what shoudl i do to prevent the trees from dying? Leave it outside and hope for the best???All advice gratefully received...
