Question: Bonsai tree help, yellowing leaves and type (from b&q)?

Hi all was recently in B &Q and saw a bonsai tree for £6.00, so thought i'd get it, within 3 days the leaves have started yellowing quite fast, kept it moist, and am using bonsai feed etc. I've been trying to identify the tree i have as when purchasing from B &Q the label just said assorted bonsai (not very helpful!!), in the hope i can find some help to get the tree back to full health :( found an image off their website: http:/ / www.diy.com/ diy/ jsp/ bq/ nav.jsp?action=detail &fh_secondid=10176532 &fh_view_size=10 &fh_location= %2f %2fcatalog01 %2fen_GB &fh_search=bonsai+ &fh_eds= %C3 %9F &fh_refview=search &ts=1268106559004 &isSearch=true when zoomed in on the image i would say it is the same as the 2 trees on the far right. any help or pointers in the right direction would be nice thanks for any help

First, since you didn't mention where you have it (inside or outside) and how often you are watering it (I know you said you're keeping it moist) it is really hard to pin point the problem. Second: Some general info might help: Bonsais are not typically indoor plants, the are, in fact, trees, pruned to miniature size, and need to be treated as a tree. I would recommend keeping it on a patio, and keep it out of DIRECT sunlight, and you should keep it out of the rain. It does not need water everyday, and because you say the leaves are yellowing, it leads me to believe it is over watered. Try allowing the soil to dry out for a few days, and then, do not water it more than once a week, until you can gauge how much water it needs. It definitely will not need watering more than twice a week though. Fill up a glass of water and leave it out for 24 hours so that the chlorine evaporates before you water the plant. The chlorinated water is what is best for the plant. If you just bought the plant, cease using the bonsai feed. The plant probably still has enough to feed it, and overloading the poor plant is not good. So... No direct sunlight, no rain (put under a overhang), chlorinate the water, and no feed (at least not now). I hope this helps...
