Help on pruning grapevines?
I have taken charge of a grapevine that has grown pretty much out of control. How should I prune it? When? It's gotten huge and formidable. I'm hoping to get it to produce next year.
I need help pruning a grapefruit tree?
I have a semi dwarf pink grapefuit tree thats about 5 feet tall. The trunk splits like a Y, so there is not a clear main trunk. Should I cut off one half of it? If I do it will be a bit lopsided. I am getting lots of leaves but no sign of fruit yet, so I think I need to thin it out.
I need advice on pruning a weeping cherry tree?
I installed a nice simple looking weeping yoshino cherry tree for my kids to decorate at Easter time...LOL...I never expected this tree to be so happy in its home since a previous crepe myrtlke was not. Now I need some advice on how to get this monster back into shape. I know I need to wait until this tree is dormant because I am afraid if I trim now it will no longer be happy. When is the best time to prune Cotoneaster bushes?
We have a Cotoneaster hedge around our property. What we have done in the past is prune it in the fall with a hedge trimmer. Can pruning be done at other times during the year? I'm not sure if I got the right spelling for the name of our hedge, but it should be close.
How to prune my pot-grown hydrangea?
Does anyone have a good tip on how to prune my hydrangea macrophylla? I know they don't necessary 'need' pruning, but this one is about 4 5 years old and it's getting way too big for it's container. Because I move quite often I cannot plant it into the ground so I need to cut it to a manageable size. Is this the right time to prune or should I wait till March?Any advice is highly appreciated, thanks.Just wanna add that i live in England and my hydrangeas bloomed later this year because of the weather. They are still in full bloom, altho some started to wilt. So hopefully it's not too late to cut back or thin out..
Pruning my aloe plants?
so i have an old aloe plant that i left in the window and hasn't been watered in 4 years, and in that time managed to turn into 3 seperate ones, so it was kinda omg when i found it so i proceded to clip the dieing leaves and i thought one stalk was dead but when i started to cut it away i found it still had moister in it so then i remembered that cactus plants can go very long without water. so what im asking is will this plant die or does pruning make these plants grow faster?the stalk had no greenhalf way to the center it starts to get moistthis isnt a soft leave its one of thoose kinda hard stalk parts if you havent guessed so what am i looking at?
Has anyone OVER-pruned their tomato plant?
Ugh. As a sad follow up question to the one I asked yesterday about supporting a wildly growing plant, I have to ask another. I was a bit over zealous with my pruning I am afraid the large green fruits won't have enough shade ? What did I do Has anyone done this before? I'm hoping the crazy leaves will start growing back, since they were growing so quickly. Also, the fruits are almost to the point of ripening, so maybe I will get at least one harvest?Thanks in advance...OK OK I now know I shouldn't have pruned. My question is whether the plant will die now? And if there is ANYTHING I can do to save it help more leaves grow in?
