Ideas for this short story?
Anyone have any ideas what I could do with a short story I'm writing for English? So far, I wrote about me and my friend from when I was a kid. It starts out with a long description of my neighborhood which was in the ghetto, and I wrote a long description about how my friend was homeless. All based on non fiction so far. I decided I want to take it in a fictional direction while still having it somewhat believable. I started about this one time in real life when we were mugged by older kids, but decided to make the leader of them male. I'd like to make it linking to her past somehow and know where to take it from there. Or I could scrap the whole mugging part altogether if there are better ideas. If anyone wants me to email the story to them, I could.Thanks in advance Actually, we had a peer review, and everybody who reviewed it said both the descriptions were awesome. They were the ones who suggested it should be more about my friend because it was such an interesting background and whatnot on her. I'm also very fond of my neighborhood description in there.In any case, I'm not really sure what to do with the mugging. I'd like to make it deeper than just, we were mugged and lost our candy. I was thinking about making it where one of my future closest friends was the mugger and how we bonded and grew to be friends. But I don't know, that's not really my thing. I couldn't write that well. I'd like something more exciting and or intriguing. Maybe link the mugger to my friend somehow? Idk.Need ideas.

Help thinking of title for story?
I'm in the process of writing a short story maybe longer , but I can't think of a good title. The story is set in the future, in a post apocalyptic world that has slowly re built. A small town exists on an small continent large island , unknown to the rest of the world, as the world population has split and settled into cities isolated from one another after the unspecified post apocalyptic event. A group on a boat crashes and washes up on the island, and discovers the town. The book is about the group trying to take control over the group, and show them how their culture is " wrong" and forcibly make them change. think of what pilgrims settlers did to the native americans or european imperialists . The group is much smaller than the town population, but the group tries to send a message to their home to get re enforcements to take the town over, but the people are able to stop them. That the basic plot. Anyway, I need help thinking of a title. I would like it to be a one word title, for dramatic effect. But other ideas might work too. Suggestions? Do you like the plot?Thanks

I need help with transitions in a story?
I'm writing a short story for my English class, and I need help with something very simple in my story, talking transitions, here's an example. . As he waited at his bus stop, a girl walked up of about the same age. Hey, what s your name? the mystery girl asked Oh Umm Adam Adam said shyly. Ok My name is Ashely, but my friends call me Ash. Ashely said. Ok, well Hi Ashely Adam said No You re supposed to call me Ash We re friends now jerk Ok Fine Hi ASH, you happy? Adam said angrily Yes, and now we have to be best friends forever just because you messed up my name. Deal? I m going to take that as a yes, well look, the bus finally decides to show up, well? Hurry up and get on END of example. It just doesn't sound right, how I make it more natural?Wow, thank both of you so much, I usually don't write this much dialouge and that's why I was having that problem.
