Question: Urgent! i need to know if my camera is an slr?

I have a fujifilm finepix S1000fd I NEED to know asap if it's an SLR Thanks so much! when i bought it, I just needed a decent camera for my photography class. now I need an SLR for a potential job!

I am jealous! You have the chance of a photography related job when you don't even know the difference between a P &S and an SLR camera....... and that is AFTER attending a photography class ?!?!? *sigh* :-(

No, it's not an SLR. SLRs are massive and have removable, interchangeable lenses.

No. If it were, it would be obvious; the lens of an SLR can be detached.
