Question: Why wont the videos from my camera play on my computer?

I have tried to play video footage onto my laptop from my KODAK DX6340 camera but it only plays the sound .. there is no picture. My pc is a Gateway with Windows 7. I have downloaded the free version of quicktime player from the apple website but it still does not play. Any suggestions please?
