How can I get my dog to stay out of the garbage?
My dog always has a full bowl of food but still feels the need to go through the garbage. It drives me nuts. I tried putting my garbage under the kitchen sink, he got in there and dragged it all over the kitchen, I put a top on my garbage can, he just knocked it over and tried to get whatever he could although this time it was empty . What is a good way to get my dog to stay out of the garbage can? The opening to my kitchen is to wide for a gate otherwise I would've gone that route and I cannot kennel him all day.

What to do ab Hypochondriac dog mom?
My friend always thinks there is something wrong with her dog shih tzu and every month she swears he has a cold. One time she wouldn't let me groom him again because she said that he got sick because of me. She says that his lymphnodes are swollen, she swears his inverted sneezes are panic attacks and nothing I tell her will make her see differently. I'm getting tired of her bringing it up, I already try not to say anything but it still makes me upset. I have worked at a vet for 2 1 2 years and have NEVER seen a dog so sick before in my life Every time I see the dog he seems perfectly healthy. What should I do?

Why do dogs like belly rubs?

If i spay my dog will she stop marking her territory?
I have had my Yorkshire Terriers since they were 8 weeks old and they are now 3 years old. I had to remove every piece of carpet in my house due to the fact that they just keep going to the bathroom on it. They pee where you don't see it and notice it until the smell just smacks you in the face. I once had a very pretty home and now i am just disgusted with it. No matter how much i walk them they still choose to pee indoors. I am really on the verge of getting rid of them because having carpet lessens my electric bill because it help keeps the house warm. I love my dogs two girls but I really would like to know if i spay them would it stop them from marking their territory. When one pisses in a spot you best to believe the other one is gonna piss in the same spot. Please help me someone.

My dog had diarreha yesterday and I gave him a pepcid (vet ok'd) but he still had some this morning.?
Everything else is okay eat, drink, cool wet nose . How long is too long to let it continue before we go to the vet?

Which do you think is a better and more effective reason for your dog to pay attention to you?
The dog paying attention to you because it is scared not to, eg, it is scared of the consequence of not doing so. The dog paying attention to you because you have something it wants, eg, food etcKeeping in mind that the dog has already gotten past the ''teaching'' stage of training. What do you think are the pros and cons for each approach?Yes, it is a serious question for those able to comprehend it.It's 4pm here

"House trained" dog poops in the house every night?
Not even a week ago we have picked up a dog from a rescue organization. She's very smart, attentive and obedient. And house trained. But for some reason she has made me " presents" maybe not every night, but 4 out of 6?.. She pooped in a specific location in the living room and after I told her it was BAD she pooped in a family room tonight.. I wonder what might be the reason of such behavior... I did let her out last night just before going to sleep but she didn't even come down from the deck.. so she didn't do her business. Why would she do this? And what should I do to change her behavior?.. Thanks

My Maltese dog's ears are red and swollen. Help?
She just took her 3rd vaccine this evening 6pm, came back at 7pm. she was perfectly well. We applied Oridermyl to her ears. Minutes after, she was shaking her head and scratching her ears so badly, her eyes, ears and face began to swell, puffy. We gave her water, she was fine after. We need to cuddle her and she almost slept as we cuddled. However, the minute we let her down, she will start scratching her ears and shaking her head vigorously and now her ears are standing, unusual for a Maltese, red and thick. Please advise what we should do.

Ticks Attack!!! house and dogs infested!?
ok so i kno other people have posted tick questions but they all seem like old posts i wanna get advice of any new products that help killing ticks that have infested 5 dogs and the house? ? ? im grossed out n i dont even live there, its my moms house. i guess the vet said they coulda came from mice n other animals like deer. so my mom has been havin a mice problem which most likely rooted from them coming thru the broken leak in the basement. months later n theyre now deciding to take control of the mice issue, too late duh anyways a few months ago we spotted a couple ticks on the dogs. we took them off but that was not the end of it. somehow these motherfu %'s multiplied im afraid to go to that house now cuz i dont wanna travel them to my house n i definitely dont want them to get on my baby. the condition is so insanely horrible. my mom was checking 1 dog yesterday working on each dog for a few hours n she said his body felt like a bunch of beads were on him i cringe thinking bout it. i feel so bad cuz we've taken so many off n they still get more on them. 1 dog has them near his eyes, nose, ears, etc.poor lil babies i feel horrible i cant do nothin..i told my mom to jus shave them all bald to remove atleast the eggs n baby ticks that r crawling in the hair..from that point she can c the bigger 1s attached n can remove them quicker. she gave them frontline, she took them to the vet n theyre all on medicine n had shots. she baught the best expensive vacuum to vacuum all day cuz theyre crawling on the floors in the entire house. theyre even in her car, bedroom, porch, etcalso, i told her to get pesticide, off spray for themselves cuz she said every1 has had them crawling them too, and call an exterminator or pest controller. i cant believe this happened, none of us hav the money to spend on this..my mom is selling her jewelry jus to buy frontline and the other stuff..she already gave the vet over $200 n they didnt even do the damn job right..does any1 know the exact best way to get rid of ticks in an infested house n dogs???please i need serious urgent helpi suppose we can pray for cold weather to come early cuz my mom was told the ticks die in the cold weather lol

How much should I sell my dog for?
Currently, I own a purebred Maltese puppy. He is almost ten months old and is a great dog to have around. However, my boyfriend and I just feel like he doesn't get the attention he deserves because we're gone for school and work around seven to eight hours during the day. My question is how much should I sell him for? Someone told me that I could charge around $400 for him, but I'm not sure. Thanks for all your help, guys Finding him a good home is definitely most important to me in this situation. And I didn't buy him from the breeder, my boyfriend's grandparents rescued him from an abusive home and gave him to us. Now, they don't want him back. I'd preferably like him to go into a family with small children since he's young so that he can grow up with the kids. And also, I am not abandoning him. I gave him an excellent home for as long as I could. I love him more than you can ever imagine, which is why I'm doing this. He deserves to be in a home where his owners can devote hours to him a day. I just can't, and I won't make my dog suffer because a few small minded people think I'm being irresponsible.

Why has my dog got this problem?
My dog has had a blocked nose for a week or 2 now and has recently started to bleed. every time he sneezes, it sounds like something wants to come out of his nose but it can't and i am really worried about this. he is currently in the vet being checked out and he is having an x ray. the vet says that it could be a tumour and this is why they are doing the x ray. can someone else please give me spirit as i love my dog to bits.he's a colly. i also forgot to mention, he did have the runs last week too.

DS: Lost dog update!!?
We found her ' The reason I was so scared was because Sophie is still traumatized from her old BYB home, and will chase after motorcycles, Semis, and loud vehicles, and we have a VERY busy road right next to mine, that's full of semis. If Sophie saw one, she would have dashed right into the middle of traffic, tried to nip at the wheels, and get ran over.I went out with awfully messy hair, no makeup, nothing except a random pair of clothes and shoes I threw on. If anyone I knew saw me, I wouldn't hear the end of it. the things we do for dogs. But yes, we found her. Again, I apologize for my bad grammar and spelling last time.Thank you all who prayed. It means a lot. < 3I just now realized my last question and this one is against the guidlines, but i wasn't thinking clearly and a dog is more important than them.

My dog is always eating the cat;s poop. how can I make her stop?
The litterbox is on the floor, putting it up is not available. She tries to eat it, even as he is doing it if she sees him in there. They are both the same size, so a door covered box is not an option...

What kind of dog is very affectionate and loving who is willing to cuddle you?
I already have a dog, hes a border terrier, gorgeous and very friendly but he loves his own space and doesnt like to cuddle so we leave him to it. We are now thinking of getting another dog, but I would love one that would sit down with me and who is very loyal and a great companion.Obviously we will look into this a bit more, but I would like to know a few suggestions. Thanks
