How soon can I start preparing for a motorcycle endorsement?
Just a quick question, Id like to be able to drive a motorcycle as well as a car. Just seems like a good thing to be able to do. And although this may be a little soon, I just want to know the soonest I can start getting ready for it and what is involved in it. I just got my paperwork to go to the North Carolina DMV and get my restricted license. I was told I can drive for 6 months with a parent in the car, then after those 6 months I can drive with anyone in the car as long as they have had their license for 5 years or more. My question is, when can I start working on my motorcycle license, or whatever it may be called. Basically I just wanna know what goes into getting one, and how soon I can start. Thanks Can I do that before I get my full car license or do I have to wait until I have my full complete official car license before I do that??
Vintage full face motorcycle helmet?
I have been looking everywhere online, and cant find any new full face helmets, that dont look like they belong on some kid from a japanese cartoon or a Yu gi oh trading card. Seriously what the hell? there are PLENTY of half helmets, that have nice stiching, nice texture, not allot of bells and whistles... but NONE of th em are full face.does ANYONE out there know a good resorce for a COOL looking full face motercycle helmet, that is also SAFE? i mean seriously.. just becuse you want to ride a motercycle doesnt mean you want to look like a nerd from space please people seriously, enough with all the swoops and plastic ledges and shit, just some nice looking class for once?thats also safe? help for the love of god I'm so throwing my arms up right now oh, anyones opinion on how there are no vintage full face helmets pleace keep to yourself, there are of course many helmet styles that came from the 70's that are no longer made and what someone else would consider vintage.im looking for something that has a good classic design sense here, not a specific style... How do i stop at a stop light on a motorcycle?
Ok I've had a few bikes over the past few years, but I've never thought of what might be the best way to stop at a stop light. Here's what I do, and then you can tell me if it's a good or bad idea.When i know I have to stop ahead, I squeeze the clutch lever all the way in and let my bike begin to coast. i slowly start to brake as I shift slowly down through the gears. By the time i get to the stop light or stop sign, i'm still coasting with the clutch all the way in, and i'm in first gear. I stop completely, touch my left foot down, wait, then take off. If it's a red light and i'll be there for a while, I'll hop up into neutral. Mainly, I'm just interested in knowing if pulling the clutch all the way in is essentially the same thing as putting it into neutral. might save a bit of gas, might save wear on the engine?Let me know what you think.

Riding a motorcycle in NC?
I'm 16 and about to get my drivers license I have a permit currently , I would love to get a bike, but I need to know how old I must be to ride one in NC and the requirements. I've been driving stick shift cars before I came to the US, I was told if you could drive a stick shift, riding a bike would be much easier, and I've also been riding a kymco scooter for about a year plus. I'm also planning to get a 600cc super sport bike probably a CBR600rr. Please the most important answer I need is what age I must be to get a motorcycle permit and the requirement..Thanks
Newbie Motorcycle Questions?
I'm looking into buying my first vehicle and wanted to know some of the facts on owning and maintaining a motorcycle because it seems like one good option for me.First what should I look for in a bike to start? I'm really looking towards a cruiser rather than a sports bike as they seem more comfortable to ride but I've heard that they can be a problem for beginners due to their weight.Next is maintenance. Are they pretty much like cars with needing oil changes at 3,000 miles, tires inflated, etc.? And what else is needed to keep them from breaking down?Lastly for training and insurance. I'm in Southern California, are there places to learn how to ride and care for a motorcycle for free or cheap? And how is the insurance rates compared to driving a car, is it more expensive or less and would taking the classes help lower it?Thanks for all the help in advance.

I want to buy one so I can adjust the carb on my single cylinder 650cc suzuki savagewhat are somethings I should know before purchasing, and could you give any tips on installation? should i just purchase a portable one? Im new to motorcycles and appreciate any help gaurdrail right now my bike will rev but wont idle im trying to fix that. Im guessing its a cracked float. Id like a tach to make sure the bike is operating as close to factory settings as possible before i do anything im not fooling around to get a nice sounding idle.
