How does a slave cylinder on a motorcycle work?
I have an 86' gsxr750 with a hydraulic clutch, I took the slave cylinder out the other day because you have to when replacing a chain and ever since I took the slave out the clutch does not work. When I take the slave out and depress the clutch all the way you can see the inner part of the slave cylinder move about 1mm or so, it's a very slight movement. So my question is, how much is the inner part of the slave supposed to move and is the push rod supposed to be touching the slave or no? Because I see in the middle of the slave theres like a perfect cut out that looks like the push rod goes into.

How do I ship a new motorcycle over?
I'm interested in getting the Triumph Street Triple R but I'm in Balikpapan, Indonesia and there are no dealers anywhere in Indonesia.I think the closest dealer would be in Singapore or Thailand. How do I buy a the motorcycle without having to be there? And how much would the shipping and handling cost be? And tax?The bike is a little less than $10,000 US. easygoing If I do get the bike over the first thing they will charge is the tax and additional payment which will easily cost $4000 I'll have to buy a license plate and all that so yeah, It'll cost a lot here. Shakatak Gray Markets aren't legal right?I don't there is any in here, man. Pupp But then its not new right?I won't be the first owner of the bike.Well, you guys know any Grey Imports anywhere near my area? I don't know how to find one.

Are motorcycles as dangerous as everyone says?
I'm thinking of purchasing a motorcycle and obtaining my motorcycle licenses, but my mom and some of my friends told me that motorcycles are dangerous. I recently drove around a friends moped and I felt much more comfortable and in control of the moped than I do with a car. The reason for a motorcycle is because I like to take day trips to distant cities and mopeds aren't for the highway. So are motorcycles as dangerous as people say? Any good safety tips?

What are the steps to get my motorcycle registered?

Do I need a license to get a motorcycle permit in PA?
As the title says, do I need a license to get a motorcycle permit in PA? I will turn 16 next week and am getting my permit, and would like to get my bike permit as well. I looked all over and can't find out if I can get it without a full drivers license first. If I can, do I need to take any special classes first since bikes are more complicated than cars, or can I just take the knowledge test and go ride my bike?

How does the kick start on a motorcycle or scooter ACTUALLY function?
I know how to kick start a motorcycle and scooter I have had several , but never really understood how it worked. Is the kick start attached to the piston's crank shaft, or is it attached to the transmission? I'm looking for a step by step answer to how it actually works. I tried looking on the internet for it and it didn't seem like there were many explanations although I only tried about 3 searches . Thanks a bunch for your info, I appreciate it. P.S. I'm guessing the kick start lever is attached to the crank shaft of the piston, so when you kick it, it turns the pistons over. If that is right, then is that also the way the electric start works... by the motor of the starter turning the pistons over? sorry I don't know much about cars bikes, just how to drive them Ok, this is making more sense to me now. But I am a bit confused still about how a kick start would work by being connected to the input shaft on the transmission. Since you " normally" start a bike in neutral or with the clutch in, that would disengage the input shaft from the motor, right? meaning you shouldn't be able to turn the motor over if it is in neutral or the clutch is in Or is the input shaft attached to the motor at all times, only being separated from the rest of the trans? I don't know much about motors as you can tell, lol

Can I ride at dusk with my Motorcycle permit in PA?
I am 25 and have been riding my motorcycle on permit for 5 months. I am scheduled to take the skills test next week. I have been taking my bike to work for the past few months and I leave at 6 30 a.m. The sun doesn't come up 'til 6 45 now, but it is well lit outside when I leave at 6 30 still just no actual direct sunlight. Is it legal for me to ride at dusk like this?
