Tips on painting in black and white with acrylic paint?
My grandma's birthday is in May, and I want to paint her a portrait of a celebrity on a canvas. I decided on Oprah because I was telling her which celebrities I want to draw, and her reaction to that one was good. I tried painting on Friday, but it ended up looking really bad. Her hair ended up looking to flat and her face just didn't look right, so I'm gonna start over. I'm finding it hard to transition from just drawing to painting. I want to do this one in black and white and I want it to end up looking realistic. Any tips? I know May is a few months from now, but I want to make sure I get it done in time and I want to take my time on it.

I have an oil painting but can not find anything about it?
I think the artist is A. dematteis But do not know for sure. When I look up his work I only see the one picture. Though I can not find the picture or anything like it anywhere. I am just trying to get a value on it or something. It seems to be an original and an original frame, But like I said before I am not for sure on anything. I have a old painting...?
its of a church in ether germany or austria and its adleast 50 years old but it might be up to 150 years old the frame is hand carved and looks fantastic and came with the painting but i didnt buy it i just found it in my basement so ya... how much do you figure its worth???
First time oil painting...need help!!!!!!!?
i brought oil colors but when i went to get the oil to mix those colors i asked someone what i should use i picked out linseed oil but she said i dont really need that i can use palate knife to mix colors and to clean and for shining on the painting i can use vaseline ...any comments on that??????? so i dont really need linseed oil .....and what if i dont have turpentine..is there anything i can use ???
